On June 21, 2014 my friend Susan Dang and I directed the first student fashion designers showcase for Charlotte Fashion Guild. AiCH presents CFG Fashion Designers Showcase is a fashion designer competition giving  the Fashion design students of The Art Institute of Charlotte a chance to  compete to have their garments in Septembers Charlotte Fashion Guild Style Week. The judges for the competition were AiCH fashion department director Meagan Glasco, fashion industry professional/ professor Mike Watson, Flow by Tara Davis  designer/professor Tara Davis,  Erica Arcilesi and Ryan Philemon of CFG.
 The designers were given an androgynous theme to see how creative they can be. The audience and judges saw more than they had anticipated, I can't wait to see what they come up with for Charlotte Style Week. Congratulations to our winners of this years competition Stephan "Vin", Terrence Henderson, Kristany Wallace , Patrick Tai , and  Keisha "Starr" Sutton.

Networking Spotlight: Jeffery "Fro" Young


Jeffrey Young, better known as FRO, is an aspiring model by way of Brooklyn, New York who has recently found a new born skill in creative directing. Fro has always been a man of many talents with the first found talent being dancing. Fro currently works with BE Magazine based out of Atlanta where he learns and gains new skills and assets which he uses to better himself with business in this entertainment/fashion industry. KEEP CALM AND BLOG ON is a blogging conference that was created to connect local bloggers to learn about how to improve their skills in beginning blogging, photography, networking, and fashion blogging opportunities. The event is on May 12, 2014 at the Art Institute of Charlotte in Room 233. That night will kickstart off with two Keynote Bloggers, Tamera Marbury and Jami Svay, and then, it will break out into 45 minute Workshops of your choosing. I will be speaking at the Ready To Launch workshop along with Bridgette Wright of Charlotte, North Carolina is the CEO of Style Media, LLC. During this workshop, you will receive tips on beginning blogging, graphics, and layouts. Bridgette and I will also cover the advantages and disadvantages of WordPress and Blogger. As well as giving you more information on how to organize yourself and time in the process.
